The Tailored Perspective: Aishwarya Iyer
Aishwarya Iyer, Founder and CEO of Brightland.
Tell us about your work.
I am the founder and CEO of Brightland, a new, modern olive oil brand based in LA.
What inspires you?
Art (love up and coming artists like BD Graft, Marleigh Culver), interiors (love Axel Vervoordt), literature that shakes your soul, and simple, unfussy, nourishing food.
How does what you’re wearing affect your work day?
What I’m wearing often dictates my mood, my productivity, and I believe it also affects my decision-making, which is paramount when running a business.
Describe your ideal working environment.
Natural light, soft music, a standing desk, surrounded by galvanized colleagues, healthy snacks nearby, art and books around us that inspire us, and plush sofas to convene during meetings.
Describe your ideal wear-to-work outfit.
I believe in comfort and easy streamlined pieces. As a former New Yorker in LA, I find myself wearing black and grey more than most and pairing some earrings to add a pop.
What makes you feel empowered?
Building a longstanding, thoughtful business // Thinking about beauty from the inside out // Living in the moment.
What is your approach to dressing for work?
Be unapologetic, and wear what calls to you from your closet with grace, pride and joy.
