Next in our series, we’re honored to share a conversation with The Glow co-founder Violet Gaynor. Violet launched the cult motherhood site in 2011 after years of working as a fashion editor. Here, she shares her RT story about a little dress that had a big impact on her life.
Chapter 5: Violet Gaynor
A life lesson she lives by… “One thing that I learned early on is how important it is to connect with people. It’s a small world. Be gracious, thankful and kind. Be someone that others want to be around.”
The Rebecca Taylor dress that put an end to her dating life…“I wore this dress on one of my first dates with my husband. I was falling in love and felt swept off my feet, like I was walking on air. This dress will always have a special place in my heart because it represents that feeling of romance.”
An unexpected source of inspiration…“My daughter is at an age where she’s vocal and growing into herself. Kids in general are so who they are. I’m a people-pleaser—I worry and overanalyze things. A kid is the opposite of that. She lives her life in the moment and trusts herself. There’s a purity to that that’s inspiring.”
On the meaning of fashion… “Fashion is confidence. From age 3, I was obsessed with fashion. I would dress up in my grandmother’s nightgowns. It was a form of self-expression and it still is. Now I have less time and I want simplicity, but I think it’s about feeling like yourself and feeling good.”
